We wanted ';Everyday Low Prices'; in our stores. We wanted cheap services and goods. So we forced the small stores, factories and shops to close. We allowed the big Walmarts to take over and start importing humongous amounts of ';Made In China'; goods. We relocated all our factories to China and our technology and service based industries to India. Their economies improve significantly. Their middle class people are buying cars and consuming way more oil.
Demand goes up. The Arabs meanwhile hold us hostage by keeping supply constant. Price has to go up.

Whoever gave people the idea that the American Dream was something that they were ENTITLED to without working for it.

Too many people have come to expect the government to GIVE them things like a free college education, free health care, free housing, free food, free child care, cheap gas, paid vacations, low prices on everything they want.
All this stuff gets paid for by taxes that they want people richer than they are to pay, but they still want those people to provide them with satisfying jobs with terrific benefits including free parking, flex-time, and personal leave.
A company cafeteria with organic food is a plus.
