What kind of action does the govt. can do to address the oil prices ?

or do you think the govt. should not interfere ?What kind of action does the govt. can do to address the oil prices ?
Government can influence, but its hard for them to ';interfere'; without it costing the people money. For example if they raised taxes on big oil that gets passed on to us in higher prices so its not the answer. What is the answer:

1) Mandate as much as possible a 4 day - 10 hour work week and eliminate 1 commute a week for as many people as possible;

2) End all taxes immediately on bio fuels to encourage their growth, and offer further incentives to grow wheat blue grass (800 gallons per acre) on farm land that is not used for food products today.

3) Redistribute 2 cents of the existing gasoline tax as rebates to people who buy fuel efficient cars (high gas mileage cars)

4) Do what must be done to begin drilling in American reserve locations and let the world know we're not buying their stuff anymore.What kind of action does the govt. can do to address the oil prices ?
It is govt interference that has caused much of the problem. The govt can decrease taxes on gas. They still make more per gallon than the oil companies. They can open drilling offshore and in ANWAR. They can encourage more refineries be built. Maybe they should talk to the Canadians. We import more oil from them than anyone else.
Yep.

Here's the ONLY way govt can help-----

Make the Democrats ----

1. Stay out of it.

2. Allow Drilling.

3. Allow Refineries.

4. Allow Nuclear Power.

Make the Democrats STOP LYING to the Gullible Voters.
The gov't can't do anything.

Oil prices are up WORLDWIDE so it's not an issue in the US alone.
