What if anything will happen in light of super gordon's words of wisdom over oil prices?

P.s. can they keep him for more than four days.

Anyway views tvm. What if anything will happen in light of super gordon's words of wisdom over oil prices?
Is he being serious? He's asking the oil companies to ensure oil prices don't go ridiculously high? Is he stupid enough to think they care how high the prices are?

And this man is our leader.....oh dear.

But to the person above - at least the Arabs bought the shares - only 19% of british shareholders bought those shares when they were offered (at below the market price). If our own people won't support our banks, is it any suprise that we have to get foreigners to do it for us?What if anything will happen in light of super gordon's words of wisdom over oil prices?
OPEC needs to maintain $65 per barrel to ensure the stability of their economies. It is in their interest to ensure that global demand does not wane nor peak too much. The only real control they have is via the price per barrel. Short-term disproportionate gain has generally been followed by market falls therefore having a regulating effect.

Gordon Brown is only requesting what he knows will probably happen anyway therefore making him look good. It is all about timing.
They, like we, know he's on his way out and therefore although they may have been polite enough to listen to him, he's a yesterday man. The Arabs are looking for the future, they know the oil will run out eventually and this is why they are investing rapidly and in depth around the world. They need a constant source of income for when oil does go and building all the large towers etc in Dubai won't make a dime of difference. Staying at the Burj Al Arab was great but it was only another hotel, albeit in an extremely hot country, and i wouldn't rush back to either.
Gordon Brown is leading the world in the creation of hot air again. Why does he want to lead the world when he can't even run his own country properly ? What is it about sad middle aged men in this country. Can't they just get over their ego's and just do their job modestly and efficiently ?
seeing as how the Arab consortium have now propped up Barclays and same Sheik has put in zillions to one of our football club, we are going to be in their debt forever seemingly. I wish we could get rid of brown for good, do you think we could swop him for someone useful

i hope you get more answers than one of your other questions!
The prices will go up.
