They won't be asking for a bailout because they won't need it. I bet you they are still making profits. How could they not make profits? Everyone needs oil, they don't even have to advertise to sell it.When will big oil be looking to the govt for a bailout? Have you seen the price of oil lately?
We will all keep buying gas so long as we don't have an alternative. And there doesn't seem to be too much of it in sight as of yet, not soon anyways.
Price of oil goes up, gas goes up.
Price of oil drops, gas drops.
They still make profits, though not nearly as much as what people think they do. Even when gas was $4 a gallon. They had to pay more for the oil, therefore we had to pay more for gas.
There will be many other companies going for this bailout before the oil companies do.

The price of oil is now what it should have been all along. Record breaking prices and record breaking profits means that there is no competition. Don't you think that it is suspicious that both Bush and Cheney were both previously oil executives? The plan from the very beginning was to overprice oil. If something happened to Bush, then they had another breed of porcine to finish business.
Believe me, they have so much money people may start asking them
