Since this price of oil has gone down, how come the price of a quart of oil is still high unlike gasoline?

the price of petrol products such as oil is dependent on two things, 1) the price of oil on the market and 2) the price of production. motor oil that you use to lubricate the pistons of your car has to be heavily refined and processed to give it the properties needed to work effectively. Crude oil is much more different than the oil you put in your car (namely dirtier, heavier and stinkier).

That much being said, when you buy gasoline, it is subject to different rules regulations, taxes, and refining processes than motor oil, so the price of one may fluctuate while the other stays the same.Since this price of oil has gone down, how come the price of a quart of oil is still high unlike gasoline?
I am still paying fuel surcharges on deliveries.. Once the price of something goes up, it rarely goes down.

The serious answer is that the price of oil has gone down because it is a traded commodity. A quart of oil is not a traded commodity and can be sold for whatever price the manufacturer wants. Until Pennzoil has a listing on the stock exchange, look forward to paying that no matter what...Since this price of oil has gone down, how come the price of a quart of oil is still high unlike gasoline?
Corporate greed !

Also, the price of gasoline has gone up by $.30 a gallon since yesterday, and $ .45 since last week. Go figure and tell me it's not greed.
I know what you mean it is getting ridiculous. Also the price of natural gas has gone down but my gas bill has not.
They are still greedy. They will never change.
Yea I ask myself that question everytime I look at my heating bill! UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
beacuse the middle east is going bankrupt
