Why is it that now since the price of crude oil is falling that the price of gas is still rising?

it's the oil companies way of sticking it to usWhy is it that now since the price of crude oil is falling that the price of gas is still rising?
Refinery utilization. Also, many of the refineries are in the Houston area, and prices were bid up in advance of the hurricanes, which could impact offshore platforms, refineries, pipelines. It takes about 2 weeks to get back up and running, if there is no damage from the hurricanes. So after one flopped, the next came too close on its heels to boot up the system and shut it down again. If there are no more immediate Gulf Coast threats, things should be up and running in about 2 weeks.

Also remember lots of products are made from crude. And it is time to make home heating oil for the winter. Why is it that now since the price of crude oil is falling that the price of gas is still rising?
The oil companies now have to charge more for a gallon of gas because Americans have cut back on travel--well, that and the fact that more hybrids are being used now. Now their excuse is that they have to raise prices to make up for the money they are losing because we are being more eco-friendly.
