Would you support a motorists strike/sickout against oil prices?

What if for one day, we all refuse to drive (except emergencies). I think a peaceful global oil protest should be held on Monday June 30, 2008.

Do you think the speculators would get the message?Would you support a motorists strike/sickout against oil prices?
G'day mate. I would absolutely support a global 'no go' day .Especially after the story I saw the other night on the aftermath of the Exon Valdez disaster in Alaska, %26amp; the atitude of Exon mobil to honouring the court ruling for punitive damages to the folk who are still affected by this complete environmental disaster seven years later.

The oil companies, %26amp; the cartel producers are a law unto themselves with a licence to print money. An item I heard on the radio this morining quoted the finding that just Exon alone made a profit of $38,000 a minute in the last financial year. What an absolute disgrace that they've spent the last seven years stonewalling in order to completely ignore the catastrophic economic impact their actions have had on the people of this pristine part of the world.

I'm no rabid greenie, nor do i have any political particular political leanings, I'm just an average bloke who happens to have a sense of global awareness. The people who control the global oil companies have the economic health of the world by the short %26amp; curlies, %26amp; by my reckoning, (%26amp; I hope I'm not alone in thinking this) they have a moral obligation to do the right thing.

I'm under no illusions though, a 'no go' day would'nt even be a fart in a cyclone to these poeple, but it might just make them realise that awareness is growing of the impact they have on a global scale.

Good idea mate, you get my vote.

Cheers, Mulga.Would you support a motorists strike/sickout against oil prices?
I've heard this idea before and been forwarded messages saying ';Don't buy gas on such and such day'; but obviously nobody has followed through with it. Sure, I'd go along with it if I knew enough others would. But, how to get people to actually do it is the question...
i wouldn't participate because if i get tired of paying high prices, i'll just find other ways to buy less gas, like moving closer to work , driving smaller car, and many other things.
Yes, I'd do it for a month
