Why is the price of crude oil bad whether it's high or low?

Why is it when the price of crude oil goes up (gas prices go up),

';Experts'; say it's bad because people can't afford gas?

Then, when crude oil prices drop (gas prices drop), ';Experts'; say it's bad because investors loose money?

They both can't be bad !!Why is the price of crude oil bad whether it's high or low?
Oil and other commodities are an indicator of overall production . . . So too high means the cost of goods go up and to low means that production is down or we are in a period of economic decline. Oil prices which are too high or too low are a sure fire sign of an economy that is out of balance ( or illegal trading).
