And after oil fell $14.00 since the new year Bush said we should double the amount to 140.000 a day and the day after that the Saudi's said they would cut production. So what happened? oil went up, everytime oil has tried to come down they have screamed the terrorist are coming or done something like put more in the reserve. OPEC sets the price on oil, not Bush, not big Oil Companies, OPEC. Its called supply and demand and right now, China is buying up every barrel they can, so the price is up.
OPEC determines the price of crude oil. Bush pleaded with the Saudi Govt to try and get OPEC to reduce the cost of crude oil.

It's much more likely that he went there to show that he really feels the region is safe. It would boost the position of anyone else who supports his war if he shows some ';progress.'; I don't see how his visiting the region could increase the cost of crude oil.
